Climate Justice

Mitigating capitalism’s environmental harm while empowering vulnerable communities.

Why Climate Justice?

The climate crisis is not just an environmental issue it is a profound consequence of an extractive and profit-driven economic system. For decades, unregulated industrial capitalism has prioritized short-term gains over long-term sustainability, leading to widespread environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity, and deepening social inequality. The poorest and most vulnerable who contribute least to the problem are disproportionately affected.

To mitigate the negative impact of capitalism on the climate by advancing climate justice, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and empowering vulnerable communities to become climate-resilient and economically self-reliant.

Objectives

Expected Outcomes

  • Reduced vulnerability of at-risk populations to climate shocks.
  • Increased access to sustainable, dignified livelihoods.
  • Greater public and corporate accountability in environmental practices.
  • Stronger community voice in shaping a just and sustainable future.

Conclusion

This program is rooted in the understanding that climate change is both a symptom and a driver of the inequities inherent in unchecked capitalism. By addressing environmental harm while empowering those most affected, we aim to reshape the system from the ground up toward one that is equitable, sustainable, and human-centered.
