Uganda’s embrace of a free market economy has encouraged investment, innovation, and economic growth. However, it has also exposed consumers to risks such as unfair pricing, substandard goods, false advertising, lack of redress mechanisms, and data privacy violations. The current consumer protection framework is still developing and lacks robust enforcement. This program aims to strengthen consumer rights, market accountability, and trust through comprehensive legal, institutional, and educational interventions.
